Let's Talk About the Sports Festival! 

I think it was an amazing day. Chizu's students are very strong, fast, and talented!

Students in Canada don't have a sports festival. Usually we have sports competitions with other schools.

In elementary school we sometimes have a track and field day. Students can do running, jumping, and throwing activities.
In elementary school there is also an activity called Jump Rope for Heart.
Jump Rope for Heart is a day when students do jump roping to raise money for heart disease. 

In elementary school and high school students do the Terry Fox Run in September.
The Terry Fox Run is a day when all the students do a long run or walk. They raise money for cancer. The students run to remember Terry Fox, a Canadian man. He had cancer and lost one leg when he was 18 years old. When Terry Fox was 22 years old, he ran across Canada for 143 days and 5,373 kilometers! However, he died before he could finish his run. Because of his achievements, Terry Fox is a very famous Canadian hero.
